Hi

Thought i would set my self a challenge and do a Duathlon, 2mile run, 10mile bike, 2mile run, on the 25th November at castle combe

Was wondering has anybody done one before, also i have a hardtail bike for my riding, do we have to use a road bike, or can i use my hardtail, have a helmet, gloves, jersey, is there anything else i need

The Castle Coombe duathlons are pretty popular. IIRC it's all on the racing circuit so I'd recommend putting some slicks on your bike. Apart from that, if you aren't riding in your running shoes, practice changing your shoes quickly smile

You can use the tyres currently on your bike, but a pair of slick tyres will make a huge difference to your pace on the bike. Switching tyres is pretty easy.
