Where we all riding this weekend?
Discussion
Finally got some forks sorted for my Hardtail, and also got car going eventually. Finish work (!) in half an hour so going to whizz home, load up and head up to Dalby Forest for a cheeky lap of the red route. Bit skint, so it makes a good alternative to going to the pub, and get some nice B road miles on my car.
I always seem to ride like a mentalist when I'm solo, so I'll probably feel just as bad tomorrow morning as if I'd had half a dozen fizzy yellows!
Not sure about the rest of the weekend, will se how it pans out. But, I've not been over to Wales in years, so maybe an impromptu adventure to some proper mountains on Sunday, Coed-y-brenin or Coed-Llandegla maybe...?

Surrey Hills - hopefully there will be no foot and mouth restrictions where I'm going (Leith Hill, Box Hill, Ranmore Common etc)! I think its only a 3k exclusion at the moment?
Then a week later up north to ride Hellvelyn Ridge, High Street and a few more classics in the Lakes and Howgills. I hope the sun lasts.

I went to dalby yesterday for the first time an about 2 - 3 months, A bit dissapointed reaily. A lot of the trail is over groan with thistles and nettles and bracken, Then a lot of the first part upto the bmx coarse is just sand and needs a bit of time spending on it.
I was on my own riding yesterday and ended up riding the coarse with 2 lads from harrogate, I was chasing one around a section when he did a jump of a step and landed with the bike ontop of him. Resulting in a buckled wheel like ive never seen one before. If they are on this site !! Hope you are ok.. As he had took his top of 15 mins before and caught his shoulder, back, knee and leg. Then he said i hope im ok for next week when i do the 44 mile run i am doing. Brave lad.

Swinley tomorrow for a shakedown of the Five and Sunday maybe Bedgebury but not 100% sure yet, would like to try and ride this PM but running out of time and the bike is not finished.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what/where is 'the Five'? I can't claim to be a Swinley expert but I thought I knew most of the trails at least by name (even if I can't find them half the time!) - but that's a new one on me.Can't say for sure but there's a reasonable chance I'll be heading that way on one or other of the BOB rides tomorrow afternoon.

I was there in the AM did about 16 miles around the forest. The babymaker is that up what we call Wall2 if you go left it's quite loose and then there is about a mile of twisty with berms and the like? The trail on the right a riding buddy has done but I haven't been in there yet
Yep, that's right. Just after the Wall, through the bushes on the left. Labyrinth is the left turn, as you say loose at the top with a hairy dropoff and then a long twisty section after. Babymaker is right at the top rather than left, a couple of loose switchbacks and then a series of tabletops with some easily flooded gullys in between - there was still a couple of inches in one of them today! Joins up with Labyrinth about halfway in.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
