When I was in my early teens I used to ride a bike a lot (touring Yorkshire) and then along came a motorbike and cars......

After a 30K a year commute, I now find myself just nipping around the local town doing mostly a mile or two each way and it seems ridiculous getting the car out, or even keeping the commuter car for that matter.

So, how do i calculate the frame size that I need, what type of bike would you recommend for local nipping about and where is the best place to get one for under £100.00?

I'm not 100% sure that my enthusiasm will last so i don't want to spend a fortune.

Pop to your local shop and try a few for size.

For that money, ebay is your only hope .... Try and buy something with a brand that you have some hope of getting standard spares off the shelf for, and not some 3rd world lash up that looks like a good bike, but is actually made of recycled woks and will break the first time you sit on it.

Something like this would be ideal.

or this

Do not get a cheap full suspension MTB, they may look good value but they are heavy with very cheap components.
