Hi Guys

Had some scrote have a go at my bike whilst it was in my communal bike sheds. It's a Trek 4300 from a couple of years ago. Stolen was:

Stem
Headset
Handlebar
Seat
Seat post

Most are Bontrager Sport stuff. Would it be worth replacing like for like? if so where can i order this from?

Is it worth just buying other manufacturers parts? Don't want to spend more than £100ish in total really as bike was only £300.

All advice greatly appreciated

Sorry to hear about your loss. Really pisses me off knowing that there are little funts out there who think they are ok to help themselves to other peoples gear.

Trawl ebay for some replacement bits from whatever mix and match manufacturer happens to be about. Stem and bars are pretty standard sizes - 1"1/8 for the steerer tube, and 25.4mm bar diameter (or 32 ish if you have the larger)

Seat post diameter needs to be correct for the frame though and there are loads of different sizes about ..... check out your manual, or measure one on the same bike in the shops.

Keep your bike in the house like I do. No way I'd leave it in a garage or shed around my way either. There is a growing scrote infestation throughout the UK at the moment sadly.

Hi Mat

Thanks for your help. Will hopefully get it back on the road soon. Feel lost without a ride!

It's sad isn't it how people think they can take stuff that doesnt belong to them. I'll be definitely keeping it in my hallway from now on
