Siezed Freewheel help!
Discussion
A colleague has a spare set of wheels he's had in his shed for a year. I am interested in buying them but the rear freewheel is stuck solid. It worked ok when he removed the wheels from his bike. Whats the best route to free it? Will I have to take the hub apart and are there any online guides to do this?

Are we talking an old school screw on Freewheel, or a Cassette and Freehub assembly?
Its a cassette and freehub assemble but it hasn't got a cassette on at the mo, sorry always called it a freewheel. Its a Deore hub that he got with his Merlin bike in 2003.Just like this

10mm allen Key IIRC -
Take wheel out. Take QR skewer out.
Undo lock nuts freehub end of axle, take locknut and cone off. slide axle out, retrieve bearings from under fridge.
10mm allen key, itll be tight as a nuns chuff it its never been off.
Bikeshop, replacement freehub. Rebuild.
You'll need to know how to regrease and set up your bearings.
If your confident lacing up a new hub, you'll find its only a few quid more to replace the whole lot, leaving you with a spare shell and axle.

Cheers Snotrag I will try that this weekend, use to regrease bearings on my old racers years ago so should be ok with this. Not confident with lacing a new hub, I can always buy a new hub and get my local bike shop to do it. Colleague is selling them very cheap so it will still be a bargain.Take wheel out.
