With regard to the other "buying a New Bike" threads, I assume that 2008MY bikes will start turning up at trade exhibitions any time soon, so can anyone say when these bikes normally hit the dealers ?

ISTM, that the bulk of this year's sales should have been made by now, and that there may be deals available on 2007MY bikes before the launch of next year's models ?

Interbike show is in September IIRC. Expect Big brand name 2008 products in shops from Autumn.

Discounts will occur once the 08 models are widely available.

Introduction will be spread out though, more specialist/high end stuff is usually the last to appear. December to February ish is a good time for deals.

Specialized already have Hardrock '08s out at Edinburgh bicycle co-op

After a bit more hunting, its not only the Hardrock that they've got in '08 spec. Have a look:

Some Trek and Specialised 08 models are now out and I believe more Trek models are due to hit the shops this week.

I'm currently hanging on for a deal!

The year starts earlier in the bike industry, its only a matter of time, till they shoot themselves in the foot by launching a whole range a year early.

I have seen the specialized line up for 2008, and the road range looks fantastic.

I've been wondering the same for over 15 years - but they seem to stick to August/September usually.

To be honest it looks a fantastic year for many ranges - Commencal especially look like they have a strong range, with a strong following (including me) off the back of fantasticly specced and well riding bikes.

The fact they are sponsoring the coolest/best riders in the world doesn't seem to hold their sales back either biggrin

Trek 08 is in the shops, high end raod bikes - Madones already delivered, entry road delivering this week, low and medium hardtail MTBs in stock and full suspension fuel Exs delivered also. Fill yer boots.
Trek have no 07 bikes left. So unless you can find something at your local bike shop there wont be any extra deals on Trek.
