Don't be put off coming to Cwm Carn (see other threads) on Sunday just because its raining.

CwmCarn doesn't get that muddy. It'll be wet and the roots can be a bit tricky, but from memory, the climbs can be a bit rooty, but the top section and downhill sections aren't too bad at all. Mainly rocky/chalky on the top sections.

It'll be greeeeaaaatttt!

And I've blagged a Commencal Meta 5.5 for the weekend bounce

I wish Wales wasn't so far away fro me. would have loved to get down there.

Am planning to get to Wales for some biking in mid September, but not sure where exactly. Both my mate and I are not what you might call the most experienced of riders, so we want something fun and exciting but not too difficult. Any suggestions?

One of the places here: www.mbwales.com would be a good start (like Cwm Carn) - they usually have trails for all abilities smile

Wish I could make it to Cwm Carn this weekend but I'm meant to be off to Reading on Sunday frown

Cwm Carn is fine for any riders. When I was last there, there were kids well under 10 riding around with their parents.

Yes looking forward to the rooty climb they should be nice and slimey with all the rain, the great thing about the MB Wales trails is they are excellent in "most" conditions and drain really well. Also the 90 degree left and up the concrete slope done it a couple times but the not the last time so aim to do that too.

Can't wait to get out there Sunday also looks to be the better of the two days.

Aiming for a pre and post Lunch lap.

Having done most of the Skyline at Afan in the pouring ran a few weeks back I am ready for anything...........well almost.

That's cause you ride like a girl who's worried about it being her TotM.

Lunch break to listen to MW guesting on Radio Five live.

Pouring rain is a touch of an understatement. I've been swimming in drier swimming pools.

Who turned up?

Me and a mate got there about half ten, and enjoyed our lap of the valley.

Weather was a bit pants, but nowt wrong with splashing about in the puddles .... Glad that we passed a good 10+ people going round, and weren't passed ourselves .... Too many people with expensive bikes and small balls on the downhills I think wink

Neil_Bolton, his mate, PDv6 and me were there. Got to the carpark just before 10 and waited around till about 10.20 before setting off.

Weather was pants for about an hour, then turned out pretty good! We ended up having some food sat outside a pub! bliss

We were there too I think a more sophisticated we are PH'ers is needed. We hit the trail bang on 10.00am it was very wet in the most part.

Had a great ride and I am (if dry) thinking of going on the 5th August as I really am wanting to do a dry Wales ride it feels like it's been a long time.

I definatley had a swollen one on the second lap. I crushed my left one going down the single track next to the freeride run.

Ms D, I think we set off a little later than 10am but not much.

PeePee hurt his shoulder again - not through a crash, it just 'went'. He rode down the road, with Plumber Larry, from the steep concrete path. Mr K and I beat them down to the car park though.

5th sounds good. I'll check diary upon my triumphant return to the office.
