This weather is ruining my routes! Some areas are getting so bad with nettles and brambles that I am having to find new routes or even carry my bike through woodland etc to miss out sections. My legs and arms look like I am a self harmer ! Maybe I am !
Then there is the horse fly and mossie bites! Ouch!
And then there is the fact that it hasnt been very hot for a while so I am not burning as many calories as I would like - so not quite as light as I wanted to be by mid July. Last year I was having to increase my dietary input to keep the weight up! Hurry up summer - get really hot soon!

My shin an knee pads have a double benifit of keeping by bones straight and red juice inside my legs when I come off, and also whacking the stingers out of the way through tight trails.

Our local short downhill / jump section looks like a scene from a Vietnam film, and an afternoon up there with the petrol strimmer is on the cards smile

At least you don't keep seeing snake trails in the sand, or have to watch for spiders and others snakes when you fall off in the grass, or get bitten by feckin great big ants when you crash into their nest.

But I do miss cycling in the woods in the UK at this time of year.
