Well I have had an offer on a house accepted in a village called Curbar near Bakewell in Derbyshire. I know the area reasonably well as my in-laws live nr Matlock. I dont however know where the good trails are? I am going to be right at the top of Curbar which seems to be a mecca for walkers and climbers and horseriders..... but I cant see any good bike trails. Anyone know the area?
Cheers

I live in Sheffield and cycle from Bakewell quite often.

I've got a stack load of routes in PDF format covering the dark and White Peaks.

Send me a mail with your adress and I will pop a copy in the post on CD

Greatgranny - you couldnt send those pdf's over to me could you? simonholehan AT hotmail.com

I would be very grateful.

I am returning to Hallam Uni this summer - Always plenty of mates to go DH'ing with at Wharncliffe, but I found that my regualr jaunts up into the peaks towards derwent etc, were usually solo!

So if either of you would are after someone to go XC riding with, I would be happy to oblige!

So long as you dont start playing with suspension settings! I am up for some cycling up Curbar/Bakewell/Rowsley/etc way... Should move in by end Aug (assuming house purchase completes) but will only be there at weekends as will be working down south until end of contract etc - so a weekend ride only. As Joolz works on Sats then it will need to be Sat evenings or Sun mornings I guess?
