My Specailized Hardrock Sport arrived today after the saga of it coming from Edinburgh (dont go there, makes me feel like shooting someone whenever i think about it). Dont have any pics at the mo and i cant be bothered to get off my arse and take some now. I've just come in from racknig up ~12 miles on it and its fantastic! Yay!

Nice one - i bought a specialised hardrock sport three or four years ago, and have never looked back since. It really did the trick and got me back in to cycling. Enjoy

PS - what colour is it then?

Its silver with a black bit where it says 'specialized' as the place i got it from only had 13" in blue.

Love the preload adjust its a nice touch. So are the triger shifters. My last bike had twisty bits and the triggers are much better.

Edit: Unfortunately UncleDave's site is down so i cant post pics at the mo. Will do so as and when i can.

Ahhh the mighty Hardrock sport, i had one of these. Totally bullet proof bike and i gave mine some serious abuse, a lot of people use these frames to build jump bikes as they are so strong! I think mine was a 2005.

Bought one last year and it is as solid as a rock, although I have already done several upgrades; wheels, disc brakes, shifters, gears, handlebars...... thumbup

I have now actually started looking on manufacturers websites for upgrades for the parts that are on the bike. Catso, what discs did you upgrade to? I know mine already has discs but i would be interested.

Gave it a wash yesterday as it got pitted on sunday. Now off out to dirty it again biggrin

The weak points i found on mine were the square taper cranks didnt take much abuse and came loose and the forks gave out after a while and couldnt be adjusted, but i did give mine some serious off road abuse probably more than it was designed for! A quick cheap brake upgrade is just to get bigger rotors, most bikes come with the smallest rotors the manufacturer can get away with, an upgrade to bigger rotors ie 203mm will make a very noticable difference especially on the front.

Avid Juicy 5; 185mm front, 160mm rear - amazing stopping power. thumbup

Is yours a Hardrock Sport Disc? My mate is after one of these, what money did you pay for it (if you don't mind me asking)?

Not a disc model, and it's a couple years old, but I know of where there may be a tidy and sweet 19" hardrock coming up for sale later this week.

I'd tell you, but then I'd be advertising wink

Mine is a Sport Hydraulic disc, however there are 3 options in the hardrock sport range:
sport - V-brakes: £299
sport disc - cable discs: £369
sport hydraulic disc - hydraulic discs: £399
