A little while ago i was wondering how to find new rides. I have just joined this site :http://www.mapmyride.com/ I think its pretty good, but the only down side is that it uses google maps to work. Google is pretty good, but doesnt mark paths. My area has just been scanned in on the satelite view a week ago and this has made the site alot more useable. I though i would share as at the very least its nice to use as a training tracker. Its just a shame no one else in my area really logs anything or the site could be really good.
I think its going to depend on where you are as to how good this is for you but it may be a nice find for some?

If it's the same people as www.mapmyrun.com (probably) you can pick the aerial photo view and pickout the offroad paths from that.

yea, just like that, infact i found it through that one. Satellite view is a great help. The only trouble is in forests really as you just cant see the paths for the leaves.

Yeah, there's quite a lot of these sprouting up. Bikely.com and communitywalk.com come to mind. Don't know if they would be more useful, as they seem to use the google maps as well. Still, a lot better than nothing, and very nice to see exactly how far you went and how much you climbed.
