After having problems with my car meant that I was expecting that my weekend of mountain biking up in the Lakes would fall through it was saved when one of the lads came up trumps with a van and we made it up there.

Had an epic day on Saturday with a proper Mountain ride in Borrowdale, including climbing Honister Pass, some fantastic singletrack and some great cakes

Today, we got to do some of this:

and I got to shoot some pics of the others too:

Bloody great weekend and some of the best riding I have had for ages.

Awesome...! I helmet-cam'd my recent C2C with one of these... :

It's OK but the mic is useless and the field of view os too narrow which tends to emphasise camera shake. For £100 delivered with a 2GB SD, I couldn't complain though...

I don't have a pic of the kit used for the helmet cam but it is a bullet cam kit from RF Concepts with an old Canon MiniDV cam in a rucsack on the rider's back.

I bought the widest angle lens I could (2.9mm for those interested) and it was a great move. Helps with reducing the effects of camera shake and also allows for more impression of speed from increased peripheral vision.

Cool clip and really good photos! Just how do you get that massive sense of speed whilst keeping the rider in focus? I'm assuming shots like that require an SLR camera?
