Anyone else stupid enough to be doing this? I shall be along with 3 friends over this coming weekend. None of us have done anything like this before, so any tips welcome Quite looking forward to it really, especially as I'll get to properly test out my new Lumicycle light setup (although I reserve the right to change my feelings about 4am on Sunday morning ).

The whole event is in aid of CLIC Sargent, which is a children's cancer charity, so if anyone's feeling generous our sponsorship page is here: www.justgiving.com/noodleminers

cheers

Take some nice savoury food that's easy to eat or you will get sick of the taste of sugar and never want to see another energy bar as long as you live!

Bar ends good to let you change positions. I'd think about Crud catchers too if wet

1 or 2 changes of race clothing will help too - psychologically will make you fee fresher & give an opportunity to freshen up & stretch.

Enjoy yourself!

Take EVERY bit of cycling clothing you own, if you havent got much buy more shorts/jerseys/gloves etc.

You need a good sleeiping setup, comfy tracksuit or somethign to change into, big comfy sleeping bag etc, get as much rest as you can when your not on.

Cheers chaps. Weather's not looking that great at the moment, but fingers crossed it at least stops raining!

Did the Nightrider12 a couple of weeks back with my brother. As suggested take every piece of riding kit you have, changing into dry warm clothes after your session is a must. Coupled with a cup of tea and something to eat, it makes you feel so much better. If you can, boil up some water and put it in a big thermos for tea making, it's an arse to have to boil water in the middle of the night. Lots of pasta, pot noodles etc, coupled with you energy drinks should keep you going. Dried fruit, sultana's etc make a change from energy bars and are easier to eat when you don't feel too hungry. Tinned rice pudding makes a nice change too. Make sure you have a headlight of some kind, you don't need a big expensive one, a tiny torch tywrapped to your lid will do. You will need it for fixing mechanicals in the dark.

Good luck and remember, try and enjoy.
