Hi, im looking to put some rigid forks on my girlfriends trek as she wants to shed some weight from the bike and she only rides on the road. She has Rock shox rebas at the moment and would like carbon forks. i have had a quick look online but cant see any obvious replacments. has anyone got any experience of this?

What kind of budget are we talking about. Planning on going super light and carbon, or on a budget.

Fork length has to match the correct geometry for the frame.

Check out the Pace rigid fork kit for some very nice stuff.

Good rigid forks from Pace. If it's an old bike, some Kona Project IIs are good for retro appeal.

I had Kona Project II's on my old (about 15 years ago) Marin after the standard fit ones bent on a BMX track. They were absolutely bomb proof, and will be the only things to show of mankinds existence in 10,000,000,000 years time when everything else has disintegrated and turned to dust. yes

I bought some kona P2s a couple of months ago and they are pukka! Not light compared to carbon forks though, and not that visually appealing.

Rigid is definitely the way forward. Then all you need to do is get rid of the gears and then you'll have a proper bike!
