Escaped from work at 3:30 yesterday and by 4:15 I was out on the bike on the Cotswold way out of Bath. Beautiful spring late afternoon, lots of mud, lots of water, bike performing really well, me not as fit as I need to be. Finished by cycling back into Bath covered in mud. Home for a quick shower, curry and then beer. Possibly the best end to the week ever thumbup

Hope everyone else gets out on their bikes this weekend.

I had a nice ride in and around Windsor on Saturday and Sunday.

Now my rear shock is not holding the air pressure (see my thread) so I am desperate to get it sorted out.

It got me thinking about retiring early (again) so that I can just ride a bike all day every day. But i'm only 34.

Would be nice wouldn't it.

Sad truth is that by the time we get to retire, our riding prime will be behind us. It's not really too advisable to go adventuring off road, and enjoying knarly down hills when we develop bones that will snap like bread sticks.

Can I retire now on full salary, then return to work at 55 and work until I die?
