Keep tempting myself to buying a Yeti ARC/Ultimate preferably before the trek buyout.

Does anyone have any experience of these?

One of my friends bent the shock mounting irreprably on a yeti, not sure what model though and he was subjecting it to some fairly rough treatment.

used to have an AS-R and was a fab bike frame.I broke 3 spesh FSR's and this was the replacement.Never went wrong and was a capable bike for climbing and descending XC.Later bikes have bearings, rather than bushes and are a better bet,as they didn't last long.

What??... those Trek wankers are going to buy out Yeti!??

Damn, first they buy out Klein and ruin the brand by turning them from pieces of art to common trash generic crap. I will NEVER forgive them for doing that. THe good old days you would strive to own a Klein.. an Adroit with stratos fork and the coolest paintjob in the world, but now any idiot can buy a rebranded trek they call a Klein.

BAstards!!!!!!!

/off to buy a Yeti..to own a peice of history before they also are brought down to chavvy Trek/Crack'n'dale levels.

Sorry my bad, dodgy memory, it was schwinn bought yeti in 1995. There was a massive loads of changes, with klein, bontrager, fat city cycles (chris chance) all being purchased. Klein definitely lost it, would love an old attitude in the candy apple finish with mission control bar and stem and the massive rigid forks.

Love my 575 - awesome piece of kit. 6" dualie that can climb and take the hard hits on the way back down. Mate in the UK has an AS-X which he uses for racing and he too loves his bike!

Buy one.
