This kind of riding fascinates me, the abuse the bikes and riders take is incredible;

(may be best to view with sound turned down)

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BwPgkTjc7E

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvnJitdcy10

and (i like the zip line forest shot a lot)

Please add more vids of whatever discipline

Some big gaps on those.....

Current favourite riders....

Steven Hamilton for his riding in an urban enviroment. and he does a lot of things that don't actually look that hard unless you ride.

And Scotty Cranmer when it comes to the whole X-Games/Park riding.

Hi mate - if this interests you, can i suggest a couple of movies to look out for?

-The collective
-Roam ( effectively Collective 2 )

These 2 are some of the most highly produced freeride mtb films, they are a little arty farty, but beautifully shot and some great riding.

More freeride, check out

-New world disorder series, 1 thru 7,

These are very american, very 'punk', much more in your face, but still, awesome riding.

Another new one out is

-kranked 6

Again, high budget, awesome shooting, great wow factor.

Also you have

-Earthed, 2, 3, 4, ( 4 just out )
-Super 8

These are Racer films, rather than 'freeride', focusing on the DH and 4x world cups. I much prefer these but i feel someone who isnt a keen DH rider might not, in the same way a non-motorsport enthusiast would rather watch banger racing than someone doing solo laps of the nurburgring.

dont mean to be patronising if you know all this already!

if you close to me i will lend you any of the above films I can find in my collection.

Thanks Snotrag, I've seen quite a few of those, the other recomendations I will check out, someone I know is bound to have them.

I must say I am not really into the the all of the editing and ego filling crap that some titles add in (que montages of a rider smiling whilst not being filmed with cheap camera effect) but I am always willing to watch riding that astounds me.

Raceboy, the Steve Hamilton vid is great, I can remember watching someone ride that curved wall on another video, the first time I saw it, I just could not believe what I had seen - those guys have so much spatial awareness, balance and agility it is unreal.

Cool clips. Cam McCaul's superman seatgrab over that HUGE gap is mental. Then the drop about 2mins into the first clip is bonkers.

The curved wall rides surprisingly aren't that tricky (says me sitting here with 3 screws holding my lower leg together banghead) The park where I had my last fall has one and once you're up on the wall it just throws you round, it's very similar to riding around the top of a burm on a track, so as long as you're going fast enough and commit to the trick the momentum just throws you round. popping a 360 off the end is another matter though

Spot on recommendation - just watched Roam (realised that is where the third clip i posted came from) . They do love their panning shots a bit too much but there is no denying the skill of both the film makers and the riders.....and the scenery...WOW

Can third that - not got The Collective, but just watching Roam now and its a great "Get out get you riding" vid - Arty Farty it may be, but still some amazing riding.

Whistler in that: Wow.

Just Wow.

The rail tag to flip about half way just after the track change makes me flinch every time, and the last bail gives me flashbacks of my last dive. paperbag

Judging by the moves that guy goes through, all fast/high risk, then one major crash isn't bad. Surely he must have crashed'n'burnt more times though?

Oh like any rider he'll have ate tarmac quite a few times and I've seen him pull the double flip on other videos, what you might not notice on the video, there are a few others on the net that show it in a little more detail, but when he hits the floor his front teeth shoot off across the floor a little faster than he does. headache
