What will santa be bringing your bike this year?

It is a very good time of year to justify those "upgrades" that maybe are not needed but would be nice to have, or just to buy parts to replace old....so what, if any, parts do you see arriving over christmas?
Myself; it was to be a new chainring, but then the ebay gods delivered a new Truvativ FireX SL chainset for £22 so that seemed a cheaper way of doing that
at that price who cares if the cranks are crap or not! And continuing the Fire theme, some Panaracer Fire Xc Pros, the Pyros have got to go once the mud does

Putting one on the front was a mistake, a bit "washy" and the rolling resistance is terrible....but one on the rear does provide great straight line traction and if you wanted to scrabble up loose rocks or go through sticky mud not a lot else betters them. Huge air volume for a 2.25, have not had a snakebite in 2 years.
I sold an old 531c and a pair of 700c wheels which I last used 15 years ago for evening '10's - so bought some spd pedals and shoes for my wife to give me.
It'll be a change for me, since I used Look clipless on the time trial bike, but that was a long time ago. So I'm looking forward to being clipped in again.

I broke my seatpost clamp the other day so had to get a new one quick or I couldn’t use the bike, I somehow managed to convince myself getting a new seatpost was also necessary. I’ve given it to someone so they can give it to me for Christmas....I may as well get something I actually want!! 
I fancy some (totally unnecessary!) titanium skewers as well, Christmas is the perfect excuse for getting these isn’t it??

I used to run a Pyro on the rear and it offered huge amounts of grip in soft conditions but I ended up getting rid of it because it lack lateral stiffness. I found that under hard cornering on hardpack the sidewall would flex so much that it made carrying lots of speed through tight berms quite un-nerving. I was running the tyre at about 40psi. I now have a Tioga DH 2.3 and can run it at 30 without any problems although it does suffer in terms of weight over the Pyro.
In short, for really soft or muddy conditions the pyro is a good bet (aslong as your frame has the clearance) but, like Neil says, once the winter goes so must they!
Santa popped in last week and delivered a Pipedream Modro with a pair of Fox F80x terra logic forks and new Hope Mono minis MK2's.All I had to do was fit the wheels and cranks and brakes and enjoy my new singlespeed mmmmm 21lb of titanium and trinkets.He's going to make a return journey too on Sunday night.......

Traffic was surprisingly light, and I have spent the morning bouncing round my living room on my new Specialized XC Pro.
Boxing day is booked in the diary for a gathering of over fed people with hang overs to load the van full of shiny bikes and head up to the woods .... ER by lunch time
