A friend and I are petitioning to start the building of a biking area at Rivington Pike in Lancashire. For those that don't know it, it was used for the commonwealth games mountain biking, which speaks for itself as to the quality of tracks up there. First track to build would be of the downhill kind, but then later plan to improve XC trails which are already present. The area is owned by United Utilities, so we need as much punch as possible. We are serious in trying to make this an icon for mtb'ing, like places such as Grizedale, Innerleithen, Ae etc.
If you support the idea, reply to this post with your name (and a contact address or number, but I understand wishes to keep such information private) the only reason for the number is so we can prove you exist! And that we're not making up names to swell numbers.
WE're serious about getting this off the ground, so any help would be verygreatly appreciated!
Thanks
James Swallow

Er, James, nobody is going to post up their names, addresses and telephone numbers on here - not when we all profess to have nice kit and cars.

I would suggest using an online petition site and linking to that.

I grew up near Rivvy and used to love riding up to the top every weekend! Would make a superb place for an MTB centre and might encourage me to visit the parents a bit more!

Use something like this then post the link

Get in touch with the CTC. They have a lot of experience in both getting funding and permission for mountain bike areas.
