On what passes for a website The Car Party plan to introduce taxation for cyclists over 16.
Don't most cyclists have cars as well?
So they are already paying tax and doing their bit to reduce congestion.
Ooh so if I'm getting taxed twice I will leave the bike and use the car.

Anti cyclist drivers are peeved that cyclists get to work for free and sometimes faster, without having to pay for parking.

No doubt that will be a popular idea with a few on here but I suspect the party is as much of a joke as their website - less tax on the motorist but more spending on roads? Do they have a money making machine?
Taxing bicycles would probably cost as much to implement as could ever be recovered - not that it would ever happen. I can not understand why a party would promote nuclear energy as green to give themselves an environmental edge and then try to discourage bicycles.
Of course they have the right to make up their own ideas, but I suspect this policy will do more harm than good.
