What do i need to know about when buying it?

I run profile racing cranks, I got a face race chainring which is 5 hole pattern, 110mm apart each hole.

Can i buy any crank spider? or it wouldnt line up or something like that?

Guessing your profile's are 3 piece? You can get 3 piece to a 5 hole spider adapter i'm sure. I'll have a butchers for you.

I'm guessing you mean BMX adpater or the MTB adapter, deciding on what cranks you have going on, BMX or MTB.

There is a standard for 3 piece, 4 bolt and 5 bolt rings so if you get the right spider, then any ring will fit as long as the amount of holes is correct.

You will see spiders marked as CD (compact drive) or ATB (standard drive). A BCD of 110mm means you want an ATB spider. Look at the sizes on HERE for example
edit - actually, not sure what the implications (if any) are of running those funky (3 piece) cranks or with one ring setup
