I'm getting a GPS to attach to the handlebars so as I can follow waypoints created in MemoryMap and downloaded onto the GPS. This model looks best, as all the controls are mounted on the front so can be changed on the hoof, plus I can get it for £130 online, including a handlebar mount which is a bit of a bargain.

Anyone any experience with this or other recommendations?

Moose.

Used to have an older Garmin hand held GPS which was great. Garmin really have this market cornered IMHO.

However, for bike use I would have thought a GPS 60 would be a bit big? For the same cash you can get a Garmin ForeTrex 201 which can be handle bar mounted and it much smaller. Or if you've got a few more pennies, the Garmin Edge range is designed exclusivly for bike use

I'm not sure either of those are particularly good for navigating new terrain though, although the features in the Edge are excellent for going over old ground, such as 'competing' against your last efforts.

The GPS 60 can be handlebar mounted, granted its a bit bulky, but can at least be glanced at and adjusted on the move, plus I think its quite a bit better for navigation

actually cheers Moose, a call to Garmin confirms the Edge will still point me in the right direction based on my waypoints, plus the extra training features and bike specific nature mean its the one I've plumped for, looking forward to trying it out already
