shout Calling PH Pedalling collective!

It's my bro-in-laws birthday and I need to buy something nice for him. He's seriously into MTB'ing and has a rather tasty Enduro. I was therefore hoping to buy him something nice but not expensive. My budget is about £30 since I've got to buy my grandmother and sister a birthday about 2 weeks later and it all adds up!!!!!

Has anyone got any idea of something cool for that price? I'm a little stumped!

How about this... Chain Reaction dvd box set for 30 beans? Maybe you could find it cheaper still elsewhere?

That rings a bell. He's got a few of these DVD box sets already....I can't even check since he lives in the UK and me in Vienna.

Btw....as an age guide, he's 32 this year

£30 doesn't always go that far unless its money towards something.

Things for £30 off the top of my head, this is me thinking that he has a top end bike and/ or wants top end parts;

Chain ring, saddle, a tyre, umm yeah.

Go with the DVD idea as bike compolents cost. Or get him some clothing.

How about this?

www.wiggle.co.uk/Default.aspx?Main=ProductDetail.aspx&W=0&Manufacturer=&UberCatName=&Cat=cycle&CategoryName=Computers&ProdID=5360022204&UberCat=0

I know he hasn't got a cycle computer.....doesn't look bad for £30. Plus it's digital wireless.

Loads of things you could get for ~£30 that aren't necessarily actual bike parts, much of which he'll probably have though, here's some off the top of my head that Ive either bought recently or will get round to buying at some point.

Wireless computer
Eye protection("sun"glasses etc)
Gloves (might not have winter ones or visca versa)
Specialist tools if you think he likes to spanner his own bike - Suitable crank spanners/extractor, cassette locking socket, chain splitter etc
Decent multi-tool for throwing in your rucksack
Chain cleaner
Pumps compact ones for the ride, a track pump for leaving in the garage or a shock pump for suspension.
Decent bike lock / chain

Basically have a look down the contents menu at somewhere like ChainReaction or PedalOn and you'll get lots of other ideas

A decent undervest! Seriously, if you already have a couple there is always a time when they're still in the wash basket and you're stuck.
Thirty quid should get you a good one.

Apparently in the not-too-distant future there'll be some GPS programmed bike computers on the market. Small enough to go on your bars or wrist and accurate without any need for calibration.
I believe some runners are using them already.
But as far as affordable computers go, that looks OK.
