How many miles per week?
Discussion
i aim to do 60 miles on my daily commute which equates to 6 10 mile time trials each week (3 days on the bike) depending on how I feel when I get up Then I'll sometimes do a longer weekend ride of anything up to about 30 miles. So, I guess in an average week I'm doing anywhere between 50 to 80 miles.

Off road around the South Downs area I ride 2-3 times a week and anything from 7-20 miles per ride, so on average about 25-30 miles per week too. The terrain is just as much of a gauge as anything though, if you lived in Norfolk and claimed you did 50 miles a week, it wouldnt be as impressive as if you lived on the side of Snowdon and did the same mileage
I commute 3 or 4 days a week which is 16 miles per day, and then ride my MTB in the forest in the evenings at the moment for an hour or two covering 10-15 miles three times a week. Combined with some longer stuff at the weekends, I probably total about 100-140 miles a week. I've only been doing this for a couple of months now after realising I was getting far too fat, and that cycling was more fun than going to the gym. Definitely feeling a lot fitter for it, but my belly's not yet disappeared ;-)

Similar experience to yours, except I don't think I cover half as much ground! I lost about 10 lbs quickly, then it levelled off and though I feel healthier and my back problems have disappeared, the weight is not going down. Dammit. I want to lose another 10-20 lbs.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
