I’m after a new full suspension bike,2nd hand most likely.

I used to ride natural trails and only a few bike parks per year,so I would say it’s cross country.

My current bike is proper old school geometry, short and twitchy.

Is 120mm still the norm for natural terrain?

120mm is described as “down country” category - an xc bike that is designed to be more comfortable to ride and more capable with out the need to lug the extra weight of a trail bike. A lot of manufacturers will adopt a xc bike into a DC bike though some will build up there own 130mm travel version to be a light trail bike.

How much you looking to spend? Have a look at transition spur over a transition smuggler to see the difference options in travel. I have a transition sentinel which will be next step up again
