Guys, probably a stupid question, but just wanted to avoid ordering the wrong part.
On my last ride i have a freak incident where a twig got caught in between chain & jockey wheel, locking up the drivechain and nearly throwing me OTB. Was a pig to remove at the trailside, and afterwards i only had the ~6 lowest gears, and it wouldnt drop into the high gears, so a slow ride home.
At home i fiddled around trying to re-adjust the indexing etc, and while the jockey wheels/cage doesnt look visibly twisted, adjust the high/low screws doesnt do much, and i cant get it to drop to the higher (smaller) cogs, even with the cable unattached.

I may swing by my LBS this week, but also considering buying a replacement derailleur.
Current one is a SRAM X01 12spd (10-50T), and replacements are ~£150.
Im no longer fussed about saving the last few grams etc, so anything stopping me saving some pennies and getting a GX (~£90) or NX (~£70)? Like for like replacement, and will work with the X01 shifter, right?

(no the cable isnt always like that - i just mashed it while fiddling around, so will replace the cable too)

All Sram parts are interchangeable so as long as you swap 12 speed for 12 speed you should be fine.

That's my first thought too - they usually straighten up well in a vice, unless cracked.

Very good point - if it is the hanger they usually arent a lot of money and very easy to swap. What bike is it?

Quite a chunky hanger, 6mm thick. Doesnt *look* bent to me

Edit, i'll have to take it off to check, but *think* its this one:

Might still get the LBS to give their opinion

Dropped it off after lunch, they've just called saying "honestly cant pinpoint exactly why, but the derailleur is knackered - weve spent 45 mins trying to adjust it but nothing doing".
Anyway, they are banging on a GX that they have in stock and should be ready tomorrow.

Chunky doesn't matter. They're a sacrificial part designed to bend/break if you get the derailleur whacked/tangled before your frame does.

Obvs by now your lBS will have sorted it out but I couldn't be sure from your photo it's not bent. Need to look from above as well and/or remove and check with a straight edge.

You can buy hanger alignment checker tools.
It's worth checking IMHO.

I improvised my own tool, but it was a faff TBH.
