Lone mountain biking back in the day I used to carry a First Aid kit. Post a recent remote 'off' and seeing a post 'off' cyclist recently I'm thinking of packing one on road rides.

Do you take one and if so what do you have in it?

Assuming helmet/gloves worn I guess the most likely potential injuries are:-

Road rash - antiseptic wipes / spray
Puncture wound / bleeding - field dressings / wound closure strips - steri-strips
[Collarbone] fracture - sling / strapping
Compound fracture - field dressing & sling/strapping
Micropore tape
Foil blanket
Whistle

My Garmin, subject to phone reception would alert NOK and I don't think I'd bother with minor cuts / plasters and the like and carry on to civilisation / car where more kit would be available.

Any cyclists, mountain leaders / outdoorsy types or maybe A&E, Paramedic, military types want to suggest must haves? Im thinking minimal bulk/weight and fit in a jersey pocket or maybe one of those tubs that fit in a bottle cage

I take tools for the bike but not for me!

Probably quite a good idea. But more stuff to carry...

When I had a backpack for riding I had a few minor bits, small pack of tissues and plasters, now I have a bottle cage and One Up EDC tool, I just take my phone.
