Since carbon handlebars lessen road vibrations, do carbon stems also reduce them? Or is carbon a waste of money compared to a premium aluminium stem for road riding?

would you not just buy an anti-vibration stem if you're suffering that much?

However IMO carbon are no better than alu.

There's better way to try first like:
Bigger tyres, lower presures+tubeless
Thicker or 2 layers of bar tape
Redshift stop shock stem

You’re undoubtedly correct, but I happen to need a new stem for the bike.

In my experience bars- yes, stem- no.

As above an anti-vibration stem might be a better choice. Not sure if Redshift are still about but a guy I rode with had one of theirs and it worked pretty well.
