Evening. So I probably haven’t cycled in over a year. History wise started in 2008 commuting and leisure road rides.Probably did 4k miles per annum upto 2021.
Had some health issues and with covid, home working etc cycling dwindled to nothing last year when I started WFH full time.
Decided to get back into it so did a couple of lunch rides.
But I got real pain on my bum from the saddle. I am probably a stone heavier than I was and I did have a bike fit done for this bike.

Any suggestions ? Saddle is probably 7 years old now. New saddle, Firm up that bum again or time for some new padded shorts ?

Your arse just has to get used to it again, I find the same thing happens when I ride a bike with a different saddle.

A good saddle is always a good thing to buy though, especially if you get one designed for where your sit bones are...

No matter how good the saddle if you've not ridden in a year it'll hurt first few times, unless you want to use a big sofa like saddle for a while.

I just don’t remember the pain when I 1st started cycling at 30 as an adult
