I've some probably 7-8 year old Race Face D30 Ambush (if memory serves) knee pads. I'm not sure if they're any better or any worse than others, but the reason they're the best pads I've ever owned is they don't slide on up your leg, but just wrap round with various Velcro fastenings. I'm looking to replace them as they're getting tired, but can't find anything like that after a bit of Googling last night. Does anyone here know of any pads like this please? If not I'll run them until they fall apart and deal with it then.

I've a few pairs of knee pads but my go to has always been IXS Flow's, the Flow 2.0's are even better. Carve's also look good if a bit more security is what your after as they have a top velcro strap too.

Thanks for the suggestion, but they still slide up one's leg, which isn't what I want. I specifically want one's that don't need to be slid up the leg, but just secure round the leg with Velcro. They're so convenient, you don't have to take shoes off to put them on or off.

Oh, got you. Misunderstood and thought you were referring to them riding up your leg whilst wearing them which some I've had do do.

I think I can picture the kind of thing you're after, had some kinda like that some years ago that I had to buy for the Mega as mine got stolen drying in the sun...

I run POC d3o (not sure what model) knee pads and have had the same set for a few years, really good.

I used ion k traze which is a pull up knee pad but they also do a rap around and zip up pad (k-traze) with a bellow zip to keep in place. Bought the latter for the missses but have borrowed them and fit/comfort is the same (good for long days on the hills).

I had Six Six One Kyle Strait (KS) pads for years, finally they gave up and I went to replace. KS no longer available I went through a few different pads (rage and TLD) but never got on with them.

After reading a review in MBR (IIRC) Bliss Minimalist pads seemed to tick the boxes, bought and for me they are great.

Endura single track ones do up with 2 velcro straps, and as requested can be put on without taking off shoes etc.

Definitely in the trail category more than DH, but they work for me.
