I've just taken delivery of n+1 that will serve commuting duties on pretty terrible roads to the train station and back. However, maybe 4-5 times a month I'm hoping to ride the 60km all the way home rather than taking the train. The whole route is on road.

Can anyone recommend a tyre that would be suitable for both uses?

I've got GP5000s for my nice bike and they're great, but I'm not sure how good/robust they'd be for a regular commute in all seasons.

I'm expecting a bit of compromise in terms of weight/rolling resistance/puncture resistance

The just launched Vittoria Ride Armours.
Come in loads of sizes and you can run them tubeless too.
Have Victoria’s races fast Grapheme and Silica rubber compound which is brand new only offered on their Corsa Pro and Corsa N.EXT so far and now on the Ride Armours….obviously with the name you would expect these to be a robust and durable tyre.

Scwalbe Marathon Plus. Depends what size you are after? 32mm or 40mm?

+1 for commuting, though they weigh nearly 1kg each and feel very dead, they simply don't puncture. Mines been on for over 2 years now, ridden in all kinds of conditions, zero punctures and the treads are hardly worn.

I’d pick a low rolling resistance tyre with good wet grip and puncture resistance properties.

This website is interesting…

Thanks for the suggestions. Having read a bit about the Vittorias above, I found an offer on the Continental gp 4 season so have gone for a pair of them. Looking forward to trying them out!
