Short of actually killing a cyclist this is one of the worst bits of driving I have seen in a long time. Undertakes a cyclist on the grass verge while another car overtakes the cyclist on the road.

And until we grow a pair and punish drivers properly it’ll continue.

At least he has to re-sit a test. But really this should be a 5 year ban with 6-9 points on his head when he returns.

If you do something as stupid/dangerous as that I don't see why you should ever get your license back.

Mind you he had no tax or insurance, so I guess no license wouldn't be much of a concern either.

Looked like someone with a low IQ was in to off-roading and thought he was being clever. With a rising world population the amount of idiots is rising too.

Anybody know what the bit in bold means?

Gibson also says she was initially informed that the case against Turner had been closed, “as they were unable to cite him to court”.
Sadly the roads appear to be increasingly populated by self-entitled twunts. I'm only surprised that nobody has yet blamed the dashcammer or suggested that he must have done something to cause the poor unfortunate individual to swerve onto the verge.

speaking as someone who is not particularly pro-cylist... that driver needs to be locked up and never allowed to drive again. Absolutely disgraceful

Just take their licence away forever. Some people are too stupid to be trusted driving.

"..they were unable to cite him to court”."

Means they couldn't find him. For crimes where the offender isn't held in custody and which is going to the Sheriff Court they start proceedings by serving a citation on the accused

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pre-trial_rights_o...

If they can't find him the prosecution can either drop the case or most likely in cases as serious as this issue a warrant to arrest him.

I would actually be amazed if the case was actually dropped. More likely delayed as he couldn't be found. We all know press reports are not always accurate.

“His response is utter bks,”.... written quote of the day.

Punishment is a joke, no tax, no insurance THEN that Dangerous Driving, question as to also attempted murder/manslaughter...and he gets a year ban and £340. Should be kicked out of the army as minimum.

Well that's certainly different, I stupidly took my bike for some rides around the New Forest last October, never ever again, to say British drivers hate cyclists with a passion is a fkin understatement of monumental proportions.
