I’m using these few stormy days to reacquaint myself with my bike via Zwift. Looking forward to the return of spring I’m considering how best to transport my bike away fro the immediate locale

I’m intrigued by the solo by mount evo

It seems to be small to store, universal in its fitting (I run a Merida with skewers) and appropriate to our Audi TT mk2

Any words of wisdom/advice real world experience?

Cheers

That looks very similar to the Sea Sucker bike racks

Yes, that looks remarkably like a SeaSucker - the Talon is their single bike rack I think? We have a SS Mini Bomber (2 bikes) and whilst I’m slightly terrified every time we use it, we’ve transported small bikes, big bikes, light bikes and heavy bikes many, many miles without issue.

Similar experience to the previous comment. I have something similar, made by Rockbros, which is considerably cheaper and holds two bikes. Whilst I am constantly worried whilst using it and stop every hour or so to check the suction, it has transported my road bike across the country on a number of occasions without a problem. It's easy to fit and easy to remove.

I have the RockBros 3 bike version. I have had no issues with it. I did do over the recommended speed on a twisty road (not in UK) and didn’t notice it. I would not go back to traditional racks now.

Only possible consideration is height. Mine is on a Cayenne and, at 6 foot 3 with the body of a bouncer (more flabby than muscle) I’m at the limit getting the middle bike on. Any shorter, or less strong it wouldn’t happen. I’m not saying I’m the Rock, more if you are a little older and your riding an e-bike it could be too much.

There is a specific roof mount for the MK2 TT which mechanically links into the roof. Might be another to consider. Mines made by Thule but branded Audi.

Thanks for the helpful replies so far. I’m looking for a solution that’s not car specific hence discounted the Audi specific option.

I have a SeaSucker Mini Bomber (2 bikes) and while the product (once I had all the bits) has been faultless the purchase proceas was a nightmare. I was supplied with an incomplete kit, and when I queried it the supplier said it was all fine, and SeaSucker said its not fine but were completely unwillimg to help sort it out. Eventually I resolved it at my own cost, but its left a pretty sour taste.

Rockbros here too. No need to spend more.

Driven all over UAE in searing heat, rain and everything in between. Speeds up to 80mph and never had an issue.
