Very recently had my first pair of prescription glasses, mainly for driving and computer work. Slight astigmatism but only -1 and -.75 in the right and left eye respectively.

Whilst I can cycle fine without my glasses I’m considering getting some cycling-specific prescription glasses for this purpose. Mainly to aid distance vision when descending or going fast.

Can you recommend any brands, ideally I’d like some with photochromic lenses so I can use the same pair year round

Thanks

I wear Oakley Crosslink Zeroes for cycling, with Transitions lenses. If you buy Oakleys without their own prescription lenses they’re a lot cheaper.

ETA: Mine were from 'The Glasses Company', cost was < £160.

RxSport offers a broad range of prescription lens options for various premium brands (Oakley, etc.) and a reliable service:

I have two pairs of "Kapvoe" ones from Aliexpress.

Two frames, two sets of prescription inserts and about a dozen lenses (including photochromic ones)

Cost a total of £75 and so far I have no real issues. The only thing wrong is that the prescription lens holders crack over time, but they are about 80p each, so I buy 10-20 and they have lasted 3 years so far.

Highly recommend Optilabs

Frames are as good quality as Oakley etc. and they are direct glazed to your prescription so can take into account astigmatism etc. they can do photochromic lenses and are not too expensive- certainly worked out much cheaper than my local opticians. They do a free trial of frames so you can pick the right style.
