I haven't bought anything for my bike for ages and I have an itch to spend some money but what should I upgrade next?

It's a Pinnacle Neon Hybrid. I have some upgraded wheels and tyres I am happy with and also upgraded seat post and seat. It has SRAM Level brakes and SRAM Apex 1 x 11, would changing one of these see a decent improvement? I do prefer to spend money on components that could be moved along to a better frame at some point.

Bike is 3 years old and has a particularly hard life as I use it for pretty much everything as it is my main form of transport as well as a fitness tool.

Decent set of new cables and a new chain would give you the biggest perceived improvement. New grips to freshen it up too.

Never thought about cables so that's a good call. I get through a couple of chains a year so I like to think I am on top of that.

New grips and maybe a new handle bar or stem could be an idea as well. A slightly more upright riding position would definitely be more comfortable.

People get sniffy about them for some reason but Ergon GP1 grips are really comfy.

If you're basically happy with it, surely the best upgrade is another bike?

A cheap old MTB or road bike for the rides where the hybrid isn't ideal?

I hate the idea of owning 2 of anything to be honest but also storage space is the main concern I guess.

I do like the idea of owning just one thing and fettling it.
