Hi all,

I have a 2018 bike with this groupset on and generally it performs faultlessly. However, after what appears to be an hour or so, the front mech starts to auto trim needlessly, ie. just riding along without changing gear and it starts to auto trim, never to the point that it will change gear but to the point where you can hear it, being the louder of the two mechs.

If I stop pedalling it stops, if I back peddle 1 or 2 revolutions sometimes it will stop for a little while but usually returns, and like I said, it never seems to do it during the first hour of riding, only afterwards.

The battery appears good, certainly don't need to charge it any more than a couple of times a year, I have searched the internet for answers and can't find any.

If you have the USB interface / charger cable, have you checked and if needed, upgraded the firmware on all the components?

I do have the charger cable, I guess I'd need further software to upgrade the firmware? Or, can I just plug it into my laptop..?

You can download e-tube for Windows but might need a specific version to support the USB charger / IF cable. I've got 8070 Di2 on a bike and the newest versions of e-tube don't support the USB cable that I got with the bike.

I'd start with v3.4.5 from the archive page if you've never updated anything before.

V4.04 might work but the BCR2 widget might need updating to work with 4.04.

Many thanks, really appreciate your help - I'll give this a go and report back.

No problem. If you've not used e-tube before (there is a mobile app as well), you can tweak all the Di2 settings like synchro / semi-synchro shifting, plus the function of the "hidden" buttons on the levers (if you have them).

All done, took about 5 or 6 mins in all, did some firmware updates so now I need the roads to dry up in order to try it out.
