Currently running GX chain with NX cassette and NX cranks, which works really well with SLX rear mech and shifter (12 speed).

Now looking at new build with SLX cranks instead of NX but keeping the NX cassette ideally. Can I also keep the GX chain or do I need to change to a Shimano chain?

Or would neither new configurations work well?

Or would a KMC X12 work as it's supposed to be compatible with all 12 speed trannies?

Thanks !

Cheers Chris. This seems to be the conclusion indeed. I think my reluctance was down to early report that the Shim 12 ring tooth profile would not fit in the width of the SRAM chain but even that doesn't seem to hold water. The bits have arrived so will start building later this week and report back. Thanks again.

id ditch the sram single sided 12s chain, looks terrible and i think the KMC is better.

I ran Shimano and SRAM chains in a Shimano drivetrain when parts were scarce. No issues. Others in my riding group did the same with SRAM.

Not sure what you mean single sided. The GX chain has only done 200 miles and has now gelled well with the NX cassette which was also new but will deffo replace with KMC when it comes to it. Cheers Chris.
