Looking at running a shorter crank than my 175mm Deore, and FSA do the 165mm Comet.

But there seems to be eleventy million types of BB specs. So, will the 1x FSA Comet (11 speed) fit my bikes Shimano SM-BB52?

Should work fine, just pay attention to the wavy washer and get the preload right.

I'm sure I had FSA comet crank on my Boardman and that wasn't a Shimano BB size. Why are you making the jump down to 165 from 175? I did a similar thing but went from 170 to 165 and hated it.

Mainly just to see what it's like, and if it makes a difference to my odd length legs lol

I ran a Comet Hollowtech chainset with a BB-52 and it destroyed the BB over the course of about 2k km

The actual spindle size is something like 24.08mm which is not oversized enough to stop the spindle fitting through the bearing apertures but can cause the bearing caps to split which obv removes the weather sealing. That's what happened with mine but other users report no damage to the caps yet the bearings still grind to a halt over time.

however, having read reports of the FSA BB it's a chance you might be willing to take
