As per the title really, I have a couple of (reasonably expensive when purchased in 2019) full suspension mountain bikes that are not getting any use, so it's time to sell them on. Is it just a case of FB marketplace/eBay/Gumtree and accepting that I'm going to be inundated with scammers and halfwits or are there better options?

Pinkbike classifieds are worth a look. Not sure if they're paid adverts or not though.

Pinkbike is free with an account, I've had mixed resutls there. Ebay probably best reach on a classified ad but your timing isn't great, there is a glut of lightly used lockdown bikes gathering dust at a time when new bikes are being heavily discounted & people are skint.

I've found Facebook Marketplace the best, having bought and sold around £15k of MTB's over the last couple of years. There are several Buy & Sell groups which are very active.

As above whilst Pinkbike has a very specialist audience the reach of Facebook is sooo much bigger. You also don't have to deal with eBay buyer or seller protections and Paypal. With Facebook the person comes to look at the bike, does a full inspection and either pays cash or bank transfer and it's job done.

Def PinkBike, you get people who actually know about bikes and what they're worth rather the messers and chancers you get on FB
