New MTB Ideas - Cross Country

Morning all,

I'm after suggestions for a new MTB, in the £1000-£1500 price range, which would be used predominantly for fast distance riding through Forests. The Trails wouldn't consist of anything extreme, so I'm basically after (I think) a lightweight cross Country Hardtail.

Looking back a few pages, I see some recommendation for an On-One Whippet which certainly fits the lightweight spec.

Any other bikes I should be looking at ? Any recommendations and/or things to look out for much appreciated.

I think you've answered your own question with the Whippet.

I'd keep your eye on the Planet-X site or even sign up to receive updates as they have a habit of randomly chopping good chunks of money off random bikes, generally over a weekend.

Lots of folks feeling the pinch and prices falling now post covid silliness.

1500 will get you a full sus xc bike in the 100-130mm travel range.
