Secondhand ebikes
Discussion
The bike market has become oversupplied at the same point that people have gone skint. The upshot is retailers stuck with cash tied up in inventory are discounting new bikes to the point that the used market makes less & less sense.
With ebikes in particular, very few manufacturers offer a warranty for subsequent owners, further reinforcing the logic of buying new.
As with most things like this, you can fall into the trap of confusing asking prices with sold. If you paid £6k a year ago for a shiny ebike, it's just human nature to ask £4-5k year later, irrespective of whether it represents value or not. The proof of the pudding is whether those bikes sell, Right now, they won't. If as I imagine, manufacturers pull production to rebalance demand, then the equation will change.

Noticed similar recently looking at what Vitus E-Sommets were going for on eBay compared with what you can buy them new for on Wiggle...
Not just bikes here, many things sel on ebay for what you could buy new at... Mystifying at times when you can buy new for less. Raccaccoonie said:

People who want a second hand ebike mostly.
Yes get that, but the market has dropped massively in recent months. Are people really paying 80-90% for second hand bikes in cash.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
