As I’m now over 40 it seems the obvious time to get into BMX.
Some decent trials behind my house a pump track a mile away and space to build a ramp should I decide to really hurt myself!
I’m figuring 2nd hand os the way to go for the time being at least but want something I won’t need to change too soon.
Have found this for £100, does it look good value?
Looks as though new forks may be required, are they standard sizes?
Any help greatly appreciated and i promise to update with scar photos!

Controversial opinion here. Depends what you want it for and what your background is. If you rode BMX to a decent standard as a kid or teenager then go ahead, you’ll pick it up again very quickly. If you’re learning to ride a BMX after 40 I wouldn’t bother. I tried in my late 20s having ridden mountain bikes for all of my teenage years and didn’t get on with BMX at all. Small, uncomfortable, too stiff and too jarring on the wrists. Tricks didn’t come naturally and it just wasn’t fun.
If you want to do the pump track I’d buy a decent dirt jump bike with a suspension fork instead. Will still be able to ride jumps and skateparks on it. If there are proper trails local to you buy a modern geometry aggressive hardtail mountain bike. More expensive. 90% of the fun of BMX but a lot more versatile.
Im a born again BMXer, rode in the 80's as a teen, trick team, demos, etc. Started up again a few years ago with an old team mate.
I've met several 40+ riders who never rode as kids but are relishing the challenge of learning tricks without putting a hip out.
What I notice seeing riders of BMXs and jump bikes at skateparks is that some look natural and have a flow, man and machine in unison, and others seem perched on top of their bike teetering about like 80% of the Boris bike riders in London.
I think if you can find the rhythm you'll find the fun.
As for whether £100 for the We The People bike all I can say is that WTP are a modern quality brand and if £100 is not taking food of the table I hope you enjoy the ride!
Edit: on looking at that bike again I see it has no brakes, it takes a certain skillset and level of commitment to ride brakeless that I will never possess, being old school I ride front and rear brakes, so maybe see whether there are the bosses/mounts for brakes or just try it or look elsewhere.

I bought my first BMX in my mid 30‘s. Trained at the local jump park. It was a shock how twitchy and unstable they are compared to a MTB at first, but after a couple of months I was jumping ok… what the experience really did improve was my MTB and motorbike riding… they felt so stupid stable when I went back to them
Had a bit of a moment in my early 30’s about getting back into BMX - bought a WTP bike (matte while and green accents) bloody gorgeous thing.
In honesty, I found it hard work - very small, couldn’t get back into it, my body just wouldn’t do what I thought I still could.
Gave up after trying something in the park and opening my shin up to the bone on the metal pedals.
Shame but not enjoyable for me.
I still think about getting another one now I’m in my 40’s but it would just sit in the garage.

That’s the era I rode also ,I had front/ rear brakes and a coaster on the Tuff II’s…I've met several 40+ riders who never rode as kids but are relishing the challenge of learning tricks without putting a hip out.
