Hi,

In terms of background I’m looking to spend a £3k bike to work voucher before end of Mar. The Cannondale in the subject is the 2022 model with Rival AXS £3k and importantly is available for delivery.

So before I.go and find one in person to test ride does anyone have or know this bike and be willing to share feedback?

In addition can anyone recommend any alternative road or gravel or even electric bike for the £3k mark that are available via cyclescheme in March

Thanks in advance

Sorry if this comes across a little blunt, but....

What kind of bike do you actually want? Alternatively, what will you be using it for?

The Supersix is a fairly racy road bike, then you ask about gravel bikes and ebikes. That's quite a range and therefore a little difficult to provide advice.

I've got a racey road bike and find it's just mega impractical for everything apart from riding fast on smooth roads, being clipped in in traffic is mega sketchy too so I think it'll be st commuting on it too.

Gravel bike with flats would be my preference if I could only have a single bike - £3k gets you a really nice one.

I currently ride a Planet X EC130e road bike. The Cannondale would be a direct replacement / upgrade to that and be used cycle to work purposes.

My thinking was that I’d then look to sell the Planet X privately and likely buy a gravel bike for weekend duties.

That’s still plan A, but the alternative is to keep the current road bike and instead buy a gravel bike or electric bike and use that to cycle to work.

Basically. I am looking at best ways to spend a reasonable sum of money on an available new bike. If there’s a great deal on a gravel bike or an electric bike I might consider that. Or if feedback on the Cannondale is great then I might stick with that.

Hope that clarifies.

What is the commute like? How much do you ride?

It is a race bike at the end of the day, so riding 6 miles through an urban environment if you do 20 miles a week and aren't that flexible/fit isn't going to be much cop. I commuted for years on race bikes (S works Tarmac mostly), but only as it was 17 miles each way and a fair bit of it was uninterrupted, barely ever unclipped as can track stand, and wasn't sketchy at all as I was used to the bike and the position. When I moved into more central London I just used a single speed/hire bike as the faff of a bike that was only really rideable in proper kit was not worth it.

I guess the long answer is - it depends biggrin

I'm going to put my £3.5k into a Ribble Endurance SL Disc though C2W scheme.
