Weight in box, ready to go: 4kg. Box dimensions: 94cm x 88cm x 23cm

I’ve already wasted money with Evri, buying labels, only to find the box was too big to be accepted. I’m blaming that on a badly designed website, and I doubt I’ll get my money back, as they seem to be pretty much uncontactable on such matters.

Tried Parcelforce and they want £28.85. Strange, because I just sent a 25kg freezer through them from Essex to Northern Ireland, at least the same volume and 24hr service, £17.40.

Looking to you guys for help.

Try Shiply, I used them late last year to send an e-bike. Cost less than £50.

Thanks, but Shiply appears to be Same-Day type couriers. I got lots of quotes back but none of them cheap.

So, Parcelforce was £28.85, but I managed to get it down to £8.40, by being a bit sneaky. I said the parcel was 92 x 20 x 85, and that got me £20 off! Hopefully there’s no one at the Post Office with a tape measure, when I drop it off tomorrow.

You might get away with it since it's not on a shipping account, but accounts can get surcharged back if the item is much larger then declared. The parcels go through a volumetric laser scanner and presumably checked against the billed size.
