Replacement for Shimano ST CT-90 Changer

This old thing has stopped working on my wife's bike. When I look it up generally the description is "vintage" haha.
Anyhow how do I work out what would be a compatible replacement?
Is any Shimano front wheel 3 speed changer ok?

You can pick up the combined shifter / brake lever on eBay for £10 - same Shimano code, so you'd just need to do the cable for the brake and derailleur.
