One of my riding pals was burgled on Saturday night, Worthing area. Very long shot but you never know. They took a dark green 2021 Specialized Levo SL & a 2021 maroon Specialized Epic. The value is around £13k at new replacement prices. Obviously the insurance are involved but if anyone sees these bikes online or riding around, I'd be very keen to hear about it.

List them on here:

Make sure you use decent photos, the correct names and models and distinguishing features. It does work, I know a few that have turned up months even years later.

Appreciate it. On a side note, there were five bikes in the shed. These two were bolted to the floor & so we think it was a targeted theft. The guy has a fair presence on Strava, uploads photos of his rides etc. so it's somewhere between possible & likely he inadvertently advertised his location & bikes to anyone who cared to look. Recently he turned on the hide location option in Strava but too late in this case. Speculation on our part but it pays to think about privacy with your online presence.

Thats what this does, and it does it automatically, all day every day for as long as you leave it running - its brilliant.

And thats how a mate got an email out of blue, alerting him to a bike he'd had stolen over a year ago, popping up on facebook.

It was liberated and returned to him.

Same here.My Strava is private, no fly bys or photos & location hidden. You can only follow me if I know you. In this case, we think it's either a Strava user or some dodgy guys who were working on the house next door & would have seen the comings & goings. The layout of the immediate area is such that they could not have opportunistically walked up & taken them, it was a determined effort.

One other thing from my own experience, I have had my bikes marked & registered with the Police. The copper who did my bikes told me that frequently, spates of bike thefts often revolve around one or two people & when they eventually are caught, dozens of bikes are recovered but the Police don't know who they belong to absent any marking on the bikes, So if the worst happens, it isn't necessarily the end of the story if you do your part too.

Shed... It's always the shed isn't it. My 10k plus bikes are kept in the house, where they belong.

That’s a bit harsh. Is her bike in the shed too?

I’d be put in the shed if I tried to keep my bikes in the house.
