I'm looking to send an ebike by carrier UK to UK and am wondering if anyone has had any experiene or recomendations of who to use.

I've got a bike box and a wheel box to put it all in but wondered if there was any particular carrier that would be better to use for a bike?

I've been quoted £145 by DHL which seems a lot and £25 by Tuffnels which seems too cheap.

Paisley freight used to be a goto...not sure if that's still the case?

Every single bike in the world gets delivered in a cardboard box at some point, I've done it many many times, all sorts of types and sizes and never had an issue.

£125 is a joke, go on parcel2go and put the dims and value in, UPS or Parcel force will proably be cheapest. I dont recall ever paying more than about £30 to send thousands of pounds worth of bike in a proper bike box.

These guys were brilliant, i used them to collect a few DH bikes from around the country. Never any damage and decent pricing plus fairly rapid delivery.

I bought a new bike recently and it was delivered by Paisley Freght - no problems at all, though the sender did the packing. The cost was £100 from SE to Cumbria.

I've also used them for engines in the past

Thank you for the suggestions of Paisley Freight.

They've quoted less than £40 which is what I would expect.

A very very big thank you!

Just check your insurance on the basic deal, I think it’s only £100.

If you can get ‘thousands of pounds worth’ of bike shipped and insured for £30 you are either incredibly good at deal making, or not covering the potential cost of damage, theft, disappearance.

Just to clarify, the £125 only included insurance up to £100 so was a really crap offer. The £33 I've paid also only included £100 of cover and it's down to the individual whether they want insurance. The company Paisley Freight use ship bikes on a daily basis and were the same one that delivered my new bike the other week.

I'm really impressed with Paisley Freight as they have a dedicated bike option where they will even supply a bike box and packaging.

I think insurance for up to £3K was about £15 so still under £50 all in.

Once again, a big thank you to everyone who has contributed here. Paisley Freight was a good call. It seems they also offer dedicated services for car wheels, engines etc. I'm sure I'll be using them again.

I have had great difficulty getting a carrier to quote for an E bike with Battery, Paisley Freight quoted then withdrew when they realised that the battery was included.

So check

To be honest, I didn't mention the battery. Not sure if it asks anywhere if it has one or is excluded. There are countless numbers of e-bikes shipped around the world so I'm sure it can be done.

It might be easy for new bikes, but not for old ones, friends wanted to take their bikes to the states and had to ship the bikes without batteries and buy new in the states….
