Just a heads up for anyone thinking of entering the ballot for next years event. Entries open on 1/12/22 this year for a week.

It is also worth noting that the cost this year is £95

I would have entered my 5th effort but that is a bit steep. I may volunteer in 2023 to get a cheap entry in 2024! If they still do that.

Ride London is the same price. Seems to be the going rate for the bigger sportives now.

Is the Fred Whitton a closed road event? From their site I can see is that Hard knott, Wrynose and Blea Tarn passes are closed, implying that the rest is on open public roads.

Yes, just the last 3 climbs are closed. The rest is open road.
