Hi,
EMTB with Bosch motor.
The walk facility is useless if it’s rough and steep, any options to beef it up?
The problem is that the walk facility cuts out if it reaches a certain torque setting, this is due to the restriction that it can’t be self propelled.
I know I should be riding it up any thing but it’s not always possible, lack of grip etc
I know that there’s a 101 devices to make it go fast but are there any the override this facility?

I've used walk assist to get my 50lb Bosch emtb up some steep gnarly climbs (probably about +45%) much steeper and I'd probably needed a winch. its slow to engage and sometimes had rear tyre slip as grip was limited but it got the job done even it was a bit slow. I think if you put it in a higher gear when attempting the walk assist it may help matters ? think I was in the lower of the mid cassette cogs on the last use (12spd so about 4th from granny cog).

The problem I find is if the front wheel hits a rock or big tuft the assist cuts out.
I had not considered the gearing, it would probably be in a low gear when I’ve got off to push, but I can experiment with it.

yep just pop it into a lower gear. We have used the walk function to pull the kids bikes up using a bungee cord. Bosch motors have massive amount of power.
