Coed y Brenin pubs nearby

I’m off to Coed y Brenin next week for a few days around the trail centre. I’m staying at Cae Gwyn Farm in my camper which is about as close to the trails as it’s possible to get.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look particularly close to a pub for the evening entertainment! Anyone stayed here or have local knowledge of a decent boozer nearby? Or if nothing nearby, a decent boozer I can drive to?

Probably the best is The George near Dolgellau. Amazing views over the Avon Mawddach. I’ve been going there many years, you will need to drive there though but I am sure you could wildcamp in the first car park on the right if you drive in from Dolgellau.
Thanks! I’ve just googled it, I think I recognise it. Is it the one next to the toll bridge and on the cycle trail into Barmouth?

There's also the Tynygroes in Ganllwyd which is nearer Cae Gwyn. I haven't been there for many years but it's got some good recent reviews on Tripadvisor. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g552002...

We've had the same - both down to Tyn Y Groes and up the road to the pub that is/was at the holiday park a mile or two towards Transwfydd (sp?).Otherwise The Stag in Dolgellau is decent and does good food. Tapas place just down the road is also spot on...

Sadly, if you mean Rhiw Goch at Bronaber Holiday village it was burnt down in 2018. Otherwise The Stag in Dolgellau is decent and does good food. Tapas place just down the road is also spot on...
First night done. Turns out the campsite is under new ownership, a young couple. The guy rides and had some great advice on local trails and what’s riding well. He’s got some big plans for the site, adding in some hard standing but maintaining the back to basics ethos. Overall it’s ideal for being close to the trails, has great views and is quieter because it doesn’t take motorhomes and caravans or supply hookups.
I didn’t bother with the pub. There was a German registered Iveco here when I arrived and four German lads came in after a day in the trails. A lovely new Mercedes sprinter came on after with another solo guy and we all had a beer together talking trails.
Weather’s a bit rubbish today but I’ll probably head out a little later after a few more chapters of my book.

Did they have any advice on natural or off piste stuff in the area? We were there last weekend but trailforks didn't have anything in terms of off-piste so we just rode in from Dolgellau on the Saturday and did the Beast and then a quick easy spin around the Fox on Sunday morning before heading home. Came away feeling a bit numb about the riding tbh - I have fond memories of the place but now it seems to be a race track for e-bikers. Few good sections and Dolgellau is a great base but would be more inclined to go back if there was some proper techy stuff around...
I didn’t ask about off piste stuff as I knew what I wanted to ride but he rides a lot and to a good standard so I’d imagine he’d know.
I rode to fox one of the mornings and enjoyed it, it’s quick and swoopy but I agree, not technical. I liked that about it tbh. I just rode it quick and dicked around a bit in the knowledge it’s not going to catch me out. I thought Temtiwr was pretty technical, especially the rocky bits. I found MBR pretty technical too, which is obviously part of the beast so if you’re doing that and riding into the centre too I’d suggest you need an uplift or a helicopter to find your match!
